Following feedback from competitors, consultation with the community and discussion within BISA, we’ve agreed to update the rule covering competitors who want to fly with more than one team at the British Indoor Nationals.
The aim is simple:
🌪️ Increase participation
🤝 Make it easier to build and support more teams, including Guest teams
👂 Respond to what our community has been asking us to consider
⚖️ While protecting competitive fairness
So, what’s changing?
Previously, competing with multiple teams flying the same competition draw meant you could not medal.
From the 2026 Nationals, you can. 🙌
The new principle is simple:
🏅 SAME DRAW. ONE ELIGIBLE TEAM.
If you fly with multiple teams against the same competition draw, only ONE can be your medal and ranking-eligible team.
1️⃣ Your eligible team must fly first in every round, before any other team you fly with against that draw.
🌪️ You can still fly with additional teams — and there is no fixed limit on how many, subject to competition capacity, scheduling and manifest requirements.
📊 Those additional teams can still compete and have their scores recorded and displayed, but will be ineligible for medals and official ranking.
👥 Where multiple competitors overlap across the same teams, the same one-team eligibility principle applies — their declarations must be consistent.
The rule applies across the relevant team competition levels and classifications wherever the same draw is being flown. It does not affect participation in different draws or solo disciplines.
Why are we making the change?
We want the Nationals to encourage people to compete, build teams and get involved.
We’ve heard from members of the community who felt the existing rule could unnecessarily restrict participation. We also expect to see more Guest teams and want to give flyers greater opportunity to support other teams.
But increasing participation cannot come at the expense of competitive fairness.
That’s why the eligible team must always fly first — ensuring its performance cannot benefit from that competitor having already flown the same round with another team.
Most importantly, we asked the community, listened to the feedback, challenged the proposal and used that feedback to shape the final rule.
The new rule will take effect for the 2026 British Indoor Skydiving Nationals at Weembi, 5–7 November. 🇬🇧🇫🇷
